Dr. Chad earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1996 (cum laude), where he majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry.  He was voted Resident Asistant of the year for the 95-96 academic year. 

He later went on to pursue graduate school, and earned his Doctorate of Optometry in 2001 from the Southern College of Optometry.  During this time, he devoted time to humanitarian efforts such as SVOSH (Students Volunteering Optometric Services to Humanity) where he undertook a mission trip to Costa Rica.  Externships were completed at the Mountain Home V.A. Hospital in Johnson City, TN and at a successful private practice in Jacksonville, FL. 

In his senior year, Dr. Chad was awarded the Logo of the Americas Award, which is awarded to a senior clinician, voted by the faculty, for outstanding clinical performance in the sector of Primary Care of the Eye.  He was also awarded the Burton Award his 3rd year for outstanding clinical knowledge in the optical dispensary of the Eye Institute at Southern College of Optometry.

Dr. Chad enjoys sci fi novels, Disney history, and spending time with his family.  He lives in Knoxville with his wife and daughters.
